Riverside Cottage is a romantic, cosy and peaceful hideaway, situated in the rural countryside of Machrie. Tucked away in the peaceful village of Machrie on the stunning Isle of Arran, this charming, modern holiday cottage offers the perfect escape for families, couples and small groups.
This detached two-bedroom cottage, sits above the mouth of the Machrie River, surrounded by green pastures and a delightful 9 hole golf course. With uninterrupted coastal views across the Kilbrannan Sound, to Mull of Kintyre.
This old, river warden’s cottage, has recently been refurbished throughout to high specifications. With two comfortable bedrooms with sea views. A bathroom and separate shower room. A cosy sitting/dining room and well-equipped galley kitchen and utility.
At the end of a busy day visitors can sit in the secluded garden and watch the world go slowly by.
The cottage is nestled alongside a quiet, but coastal main road. It is partially surrounded by a fence and for this reason it is not entirely suitable for small children (under the age of 5). Please note we will take dogs but they must be supervised when out in the garden.

The double bedroom provides a peaceful retreat, with soft furnishings that creates a restful space to recharge. With views spanning out to Kintyre, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee. The twin bedroom is equally charming, making it ideal for children, friends, or additional guests. Both rooms are finished to a high standard with in built wardrobes with shelving and quality linen included, ensuring a comfortable and cosy night’s sleep.
The property features two stylish and modern bathrooms. One bathroom includes a full-sized bath with an overhead shower, perfect for a relaxing soak after a day exploring the island. The second bathroom features a walk-in rainfall shower, with ample under sink space. Both bathrooms have floor to ceiling towel rails and are finished to a high standard.
Outside Space
One of the cottage’s standout features is its large enclosed garden—perfect for both children and dogs to enjoy safely. Backing directly onto Machrie Golf Course, the setting is truly special, with uninterrupted views stretching across to the Mull of Kintyre. It’s an ideal spot for morning coffee, evening drinks, or simply soaking in the peaceful surroundings. Private parking for two cars is also available.
