Public Transport

If you are using public transport, Stage Coach buses service the island and run alongside the ferry timetable. The bus station is directly outside the Ferry Terminal and you can reach us by getting the 322 bus. The bus stops outside one of our properties, Rowanbank, which is also opposite the drive for Cairnfield and a five minute walk to Balnagore (please see the links above to view the location of our properties). Ferry Bookings

Ardrossan – Brodick

Please be aware you must book your ferry in advance when you book your holiday, due to high passenger volumes in Summer. The main crossing is from Ardrossan to Brodick and is serviced by CalMac. The Summer timetable usually runs from Easter until mid October.

Claonaig – Lochranza (April to October) / Tarbert – Lochranza (November to March)

In summer, CalMac also provide an additional ferry service from Claonaig (on the Kintyre Peninsula) to Lochranza. This service is run on a first-come-first-serve basis and cannot be booked. This route is favourable for those touring the Western Isles or wishing to take in the longer, scenic route from Glasgow. In winter, the Lochranza service diverts to Tarbert and drops to one sailing a day. The winter sailing must be booked in advance by calling the Kennacraig office on +44(0)1880 280281 and select option 2 (on a touch-tone phone).
