Deposit

A deposit of 20% is payable at the time of booking with the balance due 1 month prior to the commencement of your holiday. The deposit is refundable if the cancellation is made 4 weeks before your arrival.

Electricity (Balnagore, Cairnfield & Rowanbank)

Electricity is charged based on what you use. There are meters at each of the properties which will be read at check in, and a final reading taken on check-out. An invoice with the total electricity units used and balance to pay, will be emailed to you on departure. Please note electricity is included within the rental price for Riverside Cottage.

We are aware electricity rates have increased over the last few years so we have provided some more details on the additional costs per house (based on weekly average use). Please note prices vary based on the group size and the time of year, depending on heating/appliance use and can be more or less than the figures shown below.

Balnagore

Summer: £40-£80

Winter: £70-£120

Cairnfield 

Summer: £70-£120

Winter: £90-£140

Rowanbank

Summer: £30-£60

Winter: £40-£80

Linen

Linen is included with all of our properties. We provide bed linen, bath & hand towels (per person).

Please bring your own towels for the beach or swimming pool.

Pets

A maximum of three well-behaved dogs are welcome at Balnagore, Rowanbank and Cairnfield. A maximum of 2 are allowed in Riverside Cottage, at a charge of £15 per dog, for the extra cleaning required. There is a dog bowl and a dog towel kept at each property.

Coal

Coal is provided for our indoor fires, at an additional charge of £12.50 per bag. This can be paid at the end of your stay with your electricity invoice.

Arrival/Departures

Balnagore is available from Friday-Friday, with entry from 4pm onwards.

Cairnfield is available from Saturday-Saturday, with entry from 5pm onwards.

Rowanbank is available from Saturday – Saturday, with entry from 4pm onwards.

Riverside Cottage is available from Friday-Friday or Monday-Monday. Short breaks are also welcomed.

All houses must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.

Short Stays

Riverside Cottage is available for short breaks. These currently operate Monday – Friday (4 nights) & Friday – Monday (3 nights). Please contact Clare using the email below for pricing and more information.

Short stays for Balnagore, Cairnfield and Rowanbank are only available during the Off-Peak season (October-March).

Travel Insurance

We strongly advise you to now ensure you have travel insurance which, as well as other benefits, will be adequate to cover you for cancellations charges which become payable under the terms and conditions referred to in the event that you have to cancel your booking. This should also cover you for ferry disruption and, possibly, overnight accommodation if a ferry is cancelled. Please ensure you discuss these details with your insurer.

You will need to show evidence of your intention to travel on the ferry. Generally, this would be on production of your booking confirmation and ferry tickets, which you would receive from Caledonian MacBrayne Ltd by email. This applies to the main ferry service from Ardrossan to Brodick. The Lochranza ferry can only be booked out of season from the end of October through to the end of March on the Tarbert to Lochranza route. However, during the summer season, the ferry from Claonaig to Lochranza does not offer advance booking. In such cases if you are travelling on that ferry then we may be able to provide evidence in the form of your booking confirmation with ourselves and payment receipt which indicates your intention to travel via Claonaig. Again we advise you discuss these matters with your insurer.
